Who needs children when you have a jealous dog and a cat who likes to tease the dog? Our living room has an area for Stella and Gill to sleep, and until recently is was one large pillow and blankets, that at times they would share. Recently Gill laid in the middle of the pillow spread out diagonally across the pillow for a week straight (I think he only left the pillow to eat and use the litter box!) so Stella would end up on the carpet... next to the pillow. Stella would walk over to the pillow, stare at Gill but wouldn't push Gill off the pillow... HER PILLOW. So we decided to get Gill a cat bed... one of his very own, so he could leave Stella and her pillow alone. We have had the pillow for two weeks, and the only one using the cat bed is the dog. No animal is sleeping on the pillow and blankets, and the cat... he's now sleeping on the carpet leaving Stella's bed alone! AND it's a small cat bed... and Stella weight 51 pounds! SO here is a picture that says it all.

Moving on. It hadn't rained in Haslett in at least two months, and then we got the storm two weeks ago that flooded basements, put nearby playgrounds underwater, the Grand River covered the baseball field at MSU etc. Why is this important? Well we haven't mowed the yard since July because the grass never grew. Last week Dave mowed the front yard, and tonight he mowed the back yard. And he got a surprise... he found an underground bee's nest. Dave got stung twice and ran around the house and through the front door. Just inside the door he took off his shoes, socks, shirt, and shorts. After looking at the bee stings sites, killing a bee he brought into the house, and making sure no more were on him. Dave got re-dressed and took on the bees.... with fire. Let's hope it works!!!!

That's all for now... I hope everyone is doing well! And staying healthy!

Dave you are adventure man out there with your fire! way to go! I love the pictures of Stella and Gill. Why are animals so stubborn! Stella looks like she is going to explode out of that bed. Sort of like how my pants look. Haha!
Robyn, that is the CUTEST picture!! Our bulldog and cat are not that friendly! Stella and Gil are adorable!

Gail~ Stella and Gill play ALL the time. The wrestle, tackle, and sometimes sleep together. I didn't know you had a cat... does his name rhyme with Gill like Stella and Bella?
No, her name is Pearl. We did consider naming Bella "Ruby" to go with the whole precious stones theme :) But Pearl is for "Pearl Jam". We did have a cat named Eddie for Eddie Vedder but he's in kitty heaven now.
Our current cat is a bit psycho. I'll have to do a post on her. She's sorta our red headed stepchild ;)
