Nursery
Dave was off work from 7/4-7/20. It was nice because we were able to put our home together a little more from when we had the floors re-done in June. Dave also went with me to my latest doctors appointment where I had to drink the glucose crap that burned. I only had to drink 50ml in 5 minutes.... I only asked Dave twice to take at least one chug of the orange crap for the team... he wouldn't go for it. All is well with the baby, and me. But at my last appointment they said. "Great, we will start seeing you every two weeks". And it hit me. Our little one will be here soon... I don't have a month between appointments anymore and all my baby books said that means your in your third trimester and only a few more weeks. Thank god Dave and I started the nursery two days before that appointment or I may have started to freak out.
Why is there a picture of a deer head on this blog entry? Well because last week on Wednesday we went to IKEA to get stuff for the nursery. We got a rug that had buildings and roads on it so when baby Fletcher gets older he can drive cars/trucks on it. We got a dresser that for $10 we could attach a diaper changing top to it. We got a light. And Dave got shelves that I only heard him say 6 times he was going to throw them out while hanging them. That was because the studs in the wall and the frame supports for the shelves weren't the same distance apart (thanks IKEA). We have plaster walls so we had to go to the store twice to get screws and supports that were long enough to hold a shelf tight to the wall without being wobbly. After IKEA we went to Cabela's. While we were shopping I saw this stuffed deer head and and I showed it to Dave knowing he would have to buy it. It is currently hanging in our nursery, with a deer nightlight below it. I did say he couldn't have the big one, he had to get a little one, and Dave was gracious and compromised. I would put an actual picture on the blog but our camera needs the battery charged (and the charger is in Battle Creek). Our nursery is coming along great. Dave said it best. "It has a few of the things each of us love in it, and things that we think/hope baby Fletcher will love too". And it has a mixture of things in it like a stuffed animal bulldog (Stella needed it), hunting stuff, NASCAR stuff, Charlie Brown, a globe, Colts stuff, etc. It doesn't match from one item to the next but it's perfect because it's unique to us and our soon to be here addition. I will post a picture before the baby is born so those of you who live far away can see it! I hope everyone is doing well. Dave and I are healthy and happy and we hope you are too.
